Gordon Lee Kronberger, 78, went to be with the Lord, September 27, 2019, after battling Alzheimer's disease, in Nampa, Idaho. Surviving family include his wife of 54 years, Bonnie Bartsch Kronberger; and their children: Lance Kronberger (wife Nikki, children Stryder 13, Keelie 12), from Eagle River, Alaska; Kelli Kronberger Lindley (husband Jeremy, children Tanner 13, Colton 10) from Nampa, Idaho, and Adam Kronberger (wife Chauntel, children Brooklyn 16, Justus 12) from Salem, Oregon. Surviving siblings are: JoAnn "Susan" Bain from Cottage Grove, Oregon, Sandra Buscher from Sheridan, Oregon, and Gene Kronberger from Creswell, Oregon. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Anna Olin Kronberger; and a brother Gary Kronberger. Gordon was born in New Salem, North Dakota and moved to Saginaw, Oregon when he was six. He grew up there and attended Cottage Grove High Scholl, three miles away. He attended Oregon College of Education (Western Oregon University) where he received a Bachelor of Science in Education and Oregon State University, receiving a Master of Science. Gordon was a high school science teacher and coach throughout Oregon for 34 years. Although he coached almost every sport, Basketball was his favorite, with many trips to the state play-offs. After retiring from teaching in 2005 he bought a 700 acre ranch in Yoncalla, Oregon and raised Angus cattle. In 2015, when dementia compromised Gordon's abilities, he and his wife moved to Nampa, Idaho to be near their daughter. The Free Methodist Church in Cottage Grove, Oregon was an important part of Gordon's growing up and early adult years. He chose to live and work in small communities and always found a church for worship and fellowship. He died a member of the Nazarene Church. A private interment was held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Caldwell, Idaho. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held Saturday, November 16, at Emerald Valley Golf Resort and Event Center, in Creswell, Oregon at 11:30 AM.
