Ronald Edward Cassidy died unexpectedly in Saint Anthony, Idaho on October 1, 2016 at the age of 76. Ron is survived by his wife Janice of Melba; daughters Sherry and Debbie; grandchildren: Megan, Austin, Tina, and R.J. Ron was born on August 17, 1940 in Nampa, Idaho to Lewis and Elfredia Cassidy. He graduated from Nampa High School in 1958 where he majored in Ag. He married Janice Lakey, his high school sweetheart on February 10, 1962. After graduation Ron began working on the family farm in Melba. Over a period of time, the couple welcomed two children into their home and Ron set about teaching them the value of a good days work. His children remember him as a hard working father who encouraged them to pursue their goals. Ron was an accomplished farmer who became a corner stone in the Melba Valley farming community. He was a dedicated individual who loved fast cars, snowmobiles, ATVs, and motorcycles. He was passionate about traveling in the motor home and looked forward to his winters in Yuma, Arizona. He was an active and dedicated member of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church, The Knights of Columbus, Elks, and numerous car and ATV clubs. A visitation is scheduled for Friday at 10:00 in Saint Joseph's Church in Melba, with a rosary to follow. Father Vogel will officiate the ceremony along with a couple guest speakers. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ron's life. The family would like to thank Zeyer Funeral Chapel for their care and dedication.
