Denise Ann Bransford Jones Denise Jones was born Denise Ann Bransford, on August 15, 1940, to Kathryn and Alvin Bransford, in Pomona, CA. She died at home with family, from advanced renal failure, on Sunday night March 28, 2021. Denise was raised in southern California and loved warm weather and sunshine. After high school, she was married briefly and had a son, Richard Bruce Lybarger. In July of 1962 Denise married Donald "Skip" Jones, in Riverside, CA, and they became a family of three. The only daughter, Jill, joined the family in 1965. They moved to Phoenix, AZ and lived there for nine years. Two sons were born there, Derek and Josh. While in Arizona, they became members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They moved north to Nampa, ID in 1977. That first winter in Idaho, there was a blizzard, and over a month with no sunshine. Denise wondered what she had gotten herself into! Their youngest son who they did not get to raise, Jeffrey Mitchell Jones, is at Hillcrest Cemetery in Caldwell, ID, since April of 1978. When Skip changed jobs, they headed back to California in 1986. There, they raised Derek and Josh, made many dear friends, and had lots of fun and adventures. Denise had a wedding business for about 10 years and did extravagant decorating for many celebrations. They retired there but moved back to Idaho last year to be near Jill, as Denise's health began to fail. Denise had a zest for life and loved doing fun things with friends and family. It was always hard for her to move away from friends, but she did a good job of keeping in touch over the years and distance. She was willing to try new things, loved entertaining, and had a talent for making friends. She was a beautiful artist and put her own touch of flare on everything she did. Denise loved people and so enjoyed serving in church positions and being involved in schools and the community. Denise is survived by her husband Skip Jones; older brother Dennis (Kay) Bransford; daughter Jill (Mark) Williams; son Derek (Melissa) Jones; and son Josh Jones. She has three granddaughters, four great-granddaughters, and two great- grandsons. She was preceded in death by son Richard Lybarger. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM. Saturday, April 10 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1560 N Ten Mile Rd in Meridian, with a viewing from 10:00 to 10:45 AM prior to the services.
