Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Fay Bruderer, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2019 (79) at the Family Life Memory Care Center in Nampa, Idaho. She was born on February 22, 1940 in the Logan Memorial Hospital when the family resided in Wellsville, Utah. She was the 6th child and 4th daughter born to Henry Gunnell Haslam and Charlotte Archibald. Fay Haslam married the light of her life, Howard Bruderer, in 1957. They had 4 children, three daughters and one son, and spent 56 years dancing through life together. Fay worked as: a care giver for the elderly, in the packaging line for a potato plant and assisted in building travel trailers. After her son was born she dedicated the rest of her life to spoiling and caring for her teenage girls, her new son and eventually her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved dancing, camping, hunting, fishing, traveling, crafting, bowling and playing all types of games. All of these activities gave her great opportunities to spend time and play with her family. She was always planning family parties and celebrations and her crafting abilities were amazing - so talented! She also spent many hours performing and having fun dancing with my dad, as he was a ballroom dance instructor for Arthur Murray's studio and later taught in our home and at church. The one thing that surprises people was her adventurous side. She was always ready to go and wanted to share what her kids and family were doing, including her love of roller coasters. Fay is survived by two of her brothers Don (Shirley) Haslam of Riverton, Utah and Jack (Karolyn) Haslam of Ucon, Idaho; three children: Julie (Kelley) Smith, Debora Uhl and Glen (Kathi) Bruderer all of Nampa, Idaho: 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard; her parents - Henry and Charlotte Haslam; her step-brothers LaGrande and Dean Haslam, her sisters: Elsie Haslam, Rae Thurston and Beth Jessop; her brothers Gerald and Reed Haslam; and her precious daughter Cherie Lynn Bruderer. A special thanks to the wonderful and compassionate staff at Family Life Memory Care for the love, kindness and respect shown to my mom during her time there. A graveside celebration will be held on Monday, October 14, 2019 at 2:30pm at the Canyon Hill Cemetery in Caldwell, Idaho.
