Morris Earl Daves

Morris Earl Daves, born to Howard and Lula Belle Daves, September 4, 1939, in Shreveport, Louisiana, died of natural causes on July 28, 2017, in Nampa, Idaho. He was 77 years, old at the time of his passing and was preceded in death by his father Howard in 1971, his mother Lula Belle in 1998, and his beloved wife Barbara Jane Bruhn Daves in 2002. Morris and his eternal sweetheart, Barbara Jane Bruhn, were sealed for time and eternity in August 1970 at the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Between the two of them, they had seven children: Steve Daves, Lysa Maureen Thomas (Jeff), Mauriene Kaye Coyle (Ollie), Diana Holden (Blane), Terri Warner (Mark-deceased), Richard Alley (Dixie-deceased), and Lisa Creech (Clyde). Together, they had 21 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. Morris is also survived by his younger brother, Tony Daves (Katy), Dave and Karen Anglesey, multiple nephews and nieces, and many dear friends. Morris grew up in Louisiana, later moved to California, and then to Idaho. Morris loved the LDS Church, giving service, and sharing his life stories with family and friends. Some of his favorite stories included how much he enjoyed taking the missionaries out to all-you-can-eat buffets, and about how he met Barbara at Church with help from Dave and Karen Anglesey. Morris and Barbara loved doing many things together, such as going yard-saleing, reading, listening to audio books, sharing stories, and reminiscing about life's adventures together. The graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at the Kohlerlawn Cemetery, 76 6th St N, Nampa, ID 83687. After the graveside service, friends and family will meet for a luncheon from 12:30-2:30PM, at the LDS Chapel at 11288 Roosevelt Ave., Nampa, Idaho 83686. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the EMTs, Doctors, Nurses, and Chaplains at the St. Alphonsus Hospital, Nampa, for their time and caring service of our father, Morris Daves, during his final days. Thanks also to Zeyer's Funeral Chapel and Kohlerlawn Cemetery for helping us make final preparations to bid our father adieu.
