Lori Hocks Vicklund passed away August 21, 2015 at home with her family by her side. Lori was born to Benigno and Tomasita Vigil August 17, 1939 in Walsenburg Colorado, the youngest of 10 children. Lori grew up in Colorado then moved with her family to La Grande, Oregon where she lived until 2001. While Lori lived in La Grande she attended college classes and worked in the Head Start Program. She was a co/owner of an appliance repair business. She also owned and operated her Daycare Center, Lit'l Rascals, which was the highlight of her life. Lori started working for Walmart while living in La Grande. She later transferred to the Nampa Walmart and worked there until she retired in 2005. In 2004 Lori married the love of her life Don Vicklund. Don and Lori shared many memories of traveling. Going to the Oregon coast was one of their favorite places. They also enjoyed fishing and going to yard sales and just spending time together. Lori loved to watch humming birds and butterflies in her yard. She also loved to walk on the greenbelt and riding her bike. Lori is survived by her husband Don, her children: Verlo and Trish Hocks, Vickie and Ron Hill, Valerie Brown, and Vernalee Magee; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; one brother Johnny Vigil. She was preceded in death by her Son Vernon Hocks and Grandson Wesley Hocks. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N. Midland Blvd in Nampa.
