Genoveva "Beva" Diaz Reyes, 74, of Shelton, Nebraska, died Friday, July 4, 2014, at home. Beva Reyes was born Aug. 1, 1939, in Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Paulo and Paula (Villareal) Diaz. Survivors include six sons: Americo Reyes and Reynaldo "Rey" Reyes Jr., both of Nebraska, Roque "Chopper" Reyes of Idaho, Rolando "Coaster" and Michelle Reyes of Nebraska, Mario Reyes, Rafael and Tamara Reyes, all of Idaho; three daughters: Guadalupe "Lupe" and Antonio Partida of Nebraska, Rosario "Chayo" and Faustino Gutierrez of Kansas and Rebeca "Becky" Sanchez of Nebraska; and a sister, Julia Ortiz of Nampa, Idaho. Those also left to cherish her memory include 36 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Reynaldo Garza Reyes and three brothers and a sister. Genoveva was married to Reynaldo on Jan. 2, 1960, and they lived in Bono, Ohio, later moving to Idaho and then to Nebraska in 1998. She enjoyed Bingo and playing the slot machines. She also loved her house plants, sewing and going to yard sales. But above all else, she cherished her family and grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 11 at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, at the corner of Greenhurst Avenue and South Powerline Road in Nampa. Following the services a potluck family picnic will be held at the Lions Park at 4:30 p.m. A viewing will be held from 11 to 1 p.m. Friday at the Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd, Nampa 467-7300 prior to the graveside services.
