Charles "Chuck" Henry Davis was born on May 26, 1939, to Wilma M Davis and Leonard A Davis in Hanford, CA. He lived in Hanford until 1949. During his formative years, he attended the country school and loved hunting and fishing. Throughout high school he milked cows and sold rabbits to help pay for schooling. He graduated from Nampa High in 1957. From there he went into business with his father at Davis Well Drilling.In October of 1960, he met his future wife, Carole. They were married on February 25, 1961, and were married for 61 years. Shortly after marrying, they moved into what would be their lifetime home on Pit Lane. There they raised their three boys: Craig Steven, Carl Dean "Corky", and Christopher Wayne. At the rate they were going, they could have their own baseball team. The family traveled together often, and Charles enjoyed watching his boys play various sports. Charles even was the announcer for American Legion Baseball. A favorite tradition is fishing at Magic Reservoir every summer with their 8 track tapes and Shasta cola.Charles worked with Davis Well as it expanded into the pump business as well in 1967. Davis Well Drilling was in business for 72 years. During that time, they sponsored bowling teams and little league teams.Charles and his family built a family cabin in 1998 in Cascade, Idaho. Here, many memories were made with all members of his family, and it continues to this day. Charles and Carole spent as much time here as possible including an annual sledding trip with their grandchildren each Martin Luther King Day weekend. They also enjoyed traveling outside Idaho. His favorite trip likely being their trip to Canada. Even as time went on and traveling became harder, they enjoyed taking drives locally as much as possible.People have often said "The way to a man's heart is through his stomach". While this can be true, it also applies to Charles' family members. He was known for bringing the family together on warm, sunny days to enjoy his popular vanilla ice cream. His son, Chris, tries to continue the ice cream tradition today. Other favorite food items that can make you think of Charles are Redvines and Hydrox cookies.Charles is survived by his wife, Carole, and their three sons Craig, Corky (Doni), and Chris (Leslie). He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
