Marco Stohl Holbrook

Marco Stohl Holbrook was born 14 March 1939 in Tremonton, Utah, the eldest daughter of Orpha (nee Heppler) and Earl Stohl. She departed this life on 31 May 2021 in Meridian, Idaho due to Parkinson's disease. Marco was raised a farmer's daughter in the western United States. She graduated from Fallbrook High School. Being raised on a farm, she learned the principles of hard work and also that practicing piano could get her out of doing dishes. Marco was a lifelong learner. When her children were in school, Marco returned to school herself and eventually graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a law degree. She practiced law in the South Bay area for several years. After she and Richard moved to Fruita, she worked for Colorado Legal Services, helping abused women. In addition to being a voracious reader, Marco developed several talents including writing, playing piano and organ, composing music, singing, and gardening. She had a love for family history and devoted countless hours to researching her family tree. Her greatest joy was her family and she loved being surrounded by them. In 1963, Marco married Richard James Holbrook in Los Angeles, CA and they settled in Torrance, CA. They were the parents of Christian (Lisa) Holbrook, Conrad (Teresa) Holbrook, Heather (Bruce) Holbrook Jensen and Laura (Gary) Henrie. Marco is survived by her four children; 15 grandchildren; and four+ great-grandchildren; as well as three sisters: Carolyn Petersen, Barbara Touron and Susan Stohl. She was welcomed to her eternal home by her husband Richard James Holbrook; parents Earl and Orpha Stohl; brother David Earl; and sister Sara Marie. Marco was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in numerous callings including music chairman and choir director, Special Primary, and Relief Society president. She set a valiant example of devoted service and enduring faith for her posterity. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 5, at the Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita, Colorado. In lieu of flowers the family askes that you perform a random act of kindness. Perry Zeyer is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
