On June 27, 2017, Bonnie Jean Cain, Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother shook off the confines of this world and took the road to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She came into this world on January 4, 1939 at Kirksville, Missouri, the fourth child of Steven Spencer Fowble and Matilda Lucille Young. She grew up in Missouri and was educated in country schools until she moved with her family to Nampa in 1954 where she entered the ninth grade. She married Donald Brownfield on December 15, 1956 in the midst of her senior year at Nampa High School. They moved to California where she received her high school diploma, going to night school. Their oldest daughter, Tracy was born July 25, 1957, they were blessed with a second daughter, Troy on November 1, 1959. They moved back to Idaho in 1966. They were divorced in August 1974. Jean worked in banking and the Canyon County Sheriff's Department where she attained the rank of sergeant. She quit the Sheriff's, and attended the FBI academy and joined an undercover narcotics task force in Wyoming. Many of the task force members died violently, but her reason for resigning was when in disguise she saw an official buying heroin. On her return to Idaho Jean went back to work in banking. Jean met her future husband, Larry Cain in August 1976. They were married on June 18, 1977. In the ensuing years Jean went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad, Her career with them started in the car department where she was a car mechanic. Jean went through switchmen training and worked that job out of Pocatello. Because of her work ethic she was put through management training and served one year under the Vice President of Maintenance of Way before being promoted to Main Line Trainmaster from Salt Lake to McCammon, Idaho. She was the first women in America to serve in that position. She spent her final years with the railroad as safety manager over four states. While in that position she rose to be President of the National Safety Council for Railroads. Upon taking the buyout from UP, she turned her attention to the mansion in Merigold, Mississippi. Her work on their home lasted for 22 years. Besides her work on the house, Jean traveled extensively setting foot in five continents. She traveled with her two daughters and grandchildren for the most part as her husband was still working. When Larry retired in July, 2000, he joined his globe-trotting wife in her travels. She was stricken with Alzheimer's in 2013 and as the insidious disease worsened they sold the house in Mississippi and moved back to Idaho. In April 2015 the disease had gotten to the point where she had to enter memory care at Family Living in Nampa. She settled in and became part of the family there and was happy with the residents and staff. In April, 2017 she contracted an infection that saw here in and out hospitals until her death. Jean was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Tom and Larry and grandson Donnie Jesse. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Larry Cain; her daughters, Tracy Treanor of McKinney, Texas and Troy Jesse of Pocatello; four brothers: Jerry Fowble somewhere off the coast of Mexico in his boat, Gary Fowble of Boise, Harry Fowble of Twin Falls and Joe Fowble of Greenleaf; six grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Jean's sunny disposition, ever ready smile and her big beautiful blue eyes will forever live in the memory of those who knew her, and the family will always remember her saying to Tracy....Kiss a bunny when they run by!
