Janet Joyner

Janet Vilate Joyner, age 84, progressed forward in her eternal journey as she passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in Clearfield, Utah on Thursday, November 10, 2022. She was born to August (Gus) Floyd Bloss and Jennie Lavon Roach Bloss on October 23, 1938, in Los Angeles, California. Janet had an older brother named Charles Floyd Bloss which she adored. Janet moved to Whittier, California at the age of 12. Her father "Gus" passed away shortly after. She stayed in Whittier until she met and married Earl Calhoun Joyner on September 14, 1956. Janet and Earl were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on November 17, 1982. They moved to Nampa, Idaho in 1974 where they established a wonderful home and family. Janet & Earl celebrated 66 years together. Janet is survived by her husband Earl; their three sons: Todd (Misty), Scott (Camille), and Dean (Bobi) Joyner; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Janet was a loving wife and mother. As an accomplished baker, she served all who came into her life with her delicious confections. Passionate about her sons' little league / baseball careers, she never missed a game. Janet dedicated her life to serving her family and her community through Church, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and through her work in the school system. She worked in the school system for many years as a kindergarten teacher's aide at Sherman Elementary. She went on to work as the front desk receptionist at Liberty and Victory Charter Schools, retiring in 2017. Everyone looked forward to birthdays because they knew they would receive one of Janet's delicious cakes. Janet was an example of Christ-like love and will be missed by those she left behind.
