He also leaves behind a grandson Sonny Brydges.Jerome was born in Boston, MA to Joseph and Rita Brydges. They lived in various places across the Northeast including Arlington and Medford, MA, Wilton, New Hampshire and Ottawa, Canada. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War where he earned several medals including the Purple Heart in 1967. He served as a marine for 11 years.Shortly after serving he acquired his private pilot's license and did a lot of travelling, most of it on land. He settled in the Bay Area taking writing and music theory classes at the University of California Berkeley and San Francisco State University. He loved literature and aspired to play the piano, taking lessons well into his 40's. He married Carole Anne Luckraft in 1976 and quickly became a devoted husband and father, never losing touch of his esoteric side nor his love of fiction, history and hotdogs. He'll be remembered for his wry sense of humor, hard work ethic and dedication to his family. Jerome retired from the United States Postal service in 2001 and in 2004 moved to Nampa, ID to relax with Carole, garden, play with his cats, work on his memoir and solve the Brydges' family tree. He also jumped out of a plane this past October against the wishes of his family. He took care of us all until his last day and for that we will be forever grateful. We'll miss you!Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 14 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd, Nampa with interment at 2 p.m. at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise.
