Glen Jay Waltman passed away peacefully at his home in Middleton surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 21, 1938 in Nampa, Idaho to Jay R. and Arvella Squires Waltman. He was raised in Nampa and graduated from Nampa High School in 1957. He joined the Idaho Air National Guard and in 1958 was married to his high school sweetheart, Joan Wood. Seven months later she died in a horse-car accident. One year later he was called to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to South Africa. After serving for two years, Glen returned home and met and married Carol Irene Flake in the Logan Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The couple settled in Boise where Glen attended Boise Junior College and worked for Carol's father, Dennis Flake, building houses. He also worked for Hopkins Auto Glass and Browning Freight Lines. Glen also worked for the Idaho Statesman for 11 years as a district manager. He and his family also owned and operated Waltman's Wild Fowl, a bird processing business for hunters, in Boise. Glen owned his own trucking company until he retired in 2003. He enjoyed many opportunities of service in various callings in the church.
