Lloyd "Kim" McDonald, 81, of Nampa passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017. He was born September 23, 1936 in Murray, Utah, the second son of four to grace the lives of his parents Francis "Glen" and Sarah "Elizabeth" McDonald. The family later moved to Nampa, Idaho.Kim was an active Boy Scout and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Nampa High School and then went on to earn his bachelor's degree in sociology at the University of Utah. During that time he met Bettie Harmon and they were married. They were blessed with two daughters, Jill and Julie. He continued on with his dream to become an attorney and attended the University of Wyoming to obtain his law degree, graduating in 1964.Later Kim married Dianne Ottens and had the privilege of adopting Jennifer Nicole "Nikki" and Scott McDonald.Kim spent his life serving others and defending the less fortunate. He spent his free time reading, studying the gospel, doing crossword puzzles and gardening. He loved sports, especially cheering on the Utah Jazz and BSU Broncos.Kim was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Brent and Jay McDonald. He is survived by his children: Jill (Shane) Sorensen of Koosharem, UT, Nikki (Tony) Spence of Nampa, Julie Winslow of Nampa and Scott McDonald of St. George, UT; and a brother Scott B. McDonald; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 28, at the Nampa 25th Ward LDS Chapel, 607 W. Locust Lane in Nampa with a viewing at the church from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Burial will be at 12 noon, Friday, December 29, at the Koosharem Cemetery in Koosharem, Utah.
