Barbara Ann Reaves

Barbara Ann Reaves passed away January 13, 2021 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her daughters. Barbara was born November 7,1935 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Roy and Marjorie Purkey. Barbara met Jackie Turnbow in Dale City, Oklahoma as she was walking past his car in a crosswalk. She believed, "he was the most handsome man she had ever seen". They married shortly after and had three daughters. Barbara and Jackie later divorced, and she met William Reaves. He became a loving stepfather and grandfather to her children and grandchildren. Barbara and Bill moved to Kuna, Idaho, in 1974. Barbara went to work for Hewlett Packard where she eventually retired and ran Bill's trucking business. Barbara enjoyed bowling, puzzles of all kinds, and playing dominoes. Barbara was the matriarch of the family and played a major role in her daughters' lives as well as her grandchildren's lives. She was the village. She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Marjorie Purkey; husband William Reaves; sister Verna Waldon; granddaughter Natasha Ann Ross; grandsons Nathan and Jason James Hird; and great grandson Zamryn James Bright. She is survived by her brother Roy Lee Purkey (Gor, Oklahoma); sister Dorothy Hicks (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma); three daughters: Linda (Kevin) Thruston (Nampa, Idaho), Brenda Harris (Caldwell, Idaho), Cherie Stephens (Donnelly, Idaho); multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was loved greatly and will be missed by all. The family will be holding a service in April at Canyon Hill Cemetery at a date to be announced.
