Kyle B. McKinney, 82, of Nampa passed away on Friday, April 13, 2018 surrounded by his family. Kyle was born on September 10, 1935 in Omer, Kentucky to Corbett and Sarah Ellen McKinney. He graduated from Ezel High School in 1952 and then attended Mayo State Vocational Training School in 1953. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1954 and proudly served his country for 23 years at bases around the world. He met the love of his life, Monique, while stationed in Fontainbleau, France. After retiring from the Air Force in 1977, the family briefly settled in Ohio before moving to the Treasure Valley, eventually settling in Nampa. He worked for Stewart's Window and Awning for a number of years and then owned his own business. Kyle was an outdoorsman and avid fisherman.Kyle is survived by his wife of 52 years, Monique McKinney; his sons: Carl Burkhart, Gary Burkhart, Stan McKinney and John McKinney; and his daughter Susan Coffey; grandsons Jay and Stephen; granddaughters Hanna and Leila; and numerous great-grandchildren; a sister in law Cora McKinney; and many nephews and nieces.He was preceded in death by his parents Corbett and Sarah Ellen McKinney; a brother Kay McKinney; sister-in-law Vonalou McKinney; sister Anita Ruby Reasor; and his twin brother Kiser McKinney; and granddaughter Cassandra Jeanette Aldrich McKinney.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2018 at the Nampa Church of the Brethren, 11030 Orchard Ave in Nampa. Interment will be held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.A special thank you to the Doctors, Nurses, Technicians and Staff in the ICU unit at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center, Nampa-Garrity.
