Shirley Linda Douglas, beloved widow, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother went to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, March 27th at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center Hospital located in Nampa, Idaho. Born on August 21, 1935 in New Orleans, Louisiana, Linda spent many of her years traveling to military bases across the nation as a military wife and dedicated mother. Linda enjoyed spending time at the Wendel D. Ley Family YMCA in Houston with her many friends, and loved great food and great people. She was a member of Fellowship of the Nations church for many years, and found joy in reading the Bible daily and worshipping with many hymns. Her favorite hymn was "The Old Rugged Cross", particularly because it portrayed her assurance in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is survived by her daughters, Valerie (Kim) Simmons, Justina (Butch) Cox and Karen Dupre, and her son Robert (Valarie) Turman. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jaime (Eric) Quebedeaux, Rickey (Sarvia) Turman, and Leanna Turman. Additionally, she is survived by great-granddaughters Jolie Grace and Anne-Marie Quebedeaux. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband of 33 years James Ellis Douglas. The Zeyer Funeral Chapel, in Nampa, ID has been entrusted with arrangements, with the viewing being held on March 28th 2016.
