Eddie Jensen Nasman

Eddie Jensen Nasman, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, husband, brother, son and friend, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2017, surrounded by his children. He was 82. Ed was born at home on April 18, 1935 in Salem, Idaho. As a young child, he moved with his family to Kansas. The family moved back to Idaho in 1943 and settled in Meridian. He attended Meridian Elementary, Amity Elementary and Meridian High School. Ed enlisted in the US Navy in 1953 and served on the USS Oriskany and at NAS Agana in Guam. He was honorably discharged in 1956. In 1957, Ed was called to serve an LDS mission in the West Central States Mission. He labored in Montana, serving for two years, before an honorable release in 1959. After his return from his mission, he met and fell in love with Donna Mead. They were married on December 2, 1960 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Ed and Donna had four children: Jonathan, Loralee, James and Michael. Ed worked on various construction jobs as a welder, pipefitter and plumber before opening his own plumbing and heating company in the early 1970s. He built a loyal customer base throughout the years, many of whom continued to call him well into his 70s. Ed worked hard and always strived to be open and honest in all his dealings. Ed's wife, Donna, passed away from cancer in 1978. Later that year, Ed met and married Carol Snarr (Wheeler). Along with Carol, Ed welcomed Carol's daughter, Lacy, into the family. He felt privileged to be able to legally adopt her soon after they were married. Ed and Carol had three children together: Joshua, Jessica and Benjamin, bringing the total to eight - five sons and three daughters. Ed continued to work in the plumbing and heating field into his late 70's, retiring only when he became the full-time caregiver to his wife Carol, who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's. Ed cared for Carol until he was nearly 82, when his health began to decline. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in early August 2017. He felt blessed to have time to say goodbye to friends and loved ones before he passed. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie L Nasman and Laura J Nasman; his wife Donna Nasman (Mead); his sisters, Darlene Anderson and Bettie Morgan; and his brother Ted Nasman. He is survived by his wife, Carol Nasman (Wheeler); his children: Jon, Loree, Lacy (Alan), Jim (Kathy), Mike (Cheree), Josh, Jessica (Billy) and Ben (Megan); 27 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; his brother Gary (Anna); his sister Aleda (Bob); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 16 at the LDS Chapel located at 2300 E. Bergeson St. in Boise. Viewing at the church from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec 15 and again from 12 to 12:45 p.m. prior to the services. Interment will follow the services at Cloverdale Memorial Park, Boise.
