Allen Eugene Meyer

Allen Eugene Meyer, 83, of Nampa, ID passed away May 3, 2018 with his family and friends at his side. Allen was born to Ralph and Violet (Lee) Meyer in Bismarck, ND on April 16, 1935. He grew up in Moffit, ND and was enlisted in the Army March 1955 - April 1958. Allen then worked in the gold mines of SD, and was a heavy equipment operator and a welder. On Dec. 5, 1969, Allen married Kathleen (Kathy) Hauck. They lived in Wyoming where he was a heavy equipment operator following pipelines. In 1976 he attended welding school, later becoming the owner and operator of Al's Welding. In 1987 they moved to Idaho where they purchased and operated Daylight Donuts in Moscow, ID. In 1990 they returned to Wyoming where he resumed welding on heavy equipment, retiring in 1997. In 2001 they relocated to Nampa, ID to be closer to family. Allen enjoyed spending time with his family, doing puzzles, feeding and watching the birds and volunteering at Hands of Hope Northwest. He enjoyed all the wonderful people there. Allen is survived by his wife, Kathy of 48 years; daughter Lori (Brian) Busz; granddaughters: Megan Busz, Anika Busz and Gretchen Busz. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law Joanne and Dalles Kershaw; and brothers Carl Meyer and Donnie Meyer. At his request there will be no services and he will be cremated under the direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa. 208-467-7300
