Neal Donald Stamper, Sr., 82, of Kuna passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at his home of natural causes. He was born February 6, 1935 in Tomahawk, Wisconsin to William Edward and Irene Margaret Wine Stamper. He met Beverly Ann Mattoon while attending high school in Orofino, Idaho. They were high school sweethearts and were married August 16, 1952. They had six children.Neal worked for various government agencies as a contractor building trails, buildings, fences (including those on the Air Force Bases in UT and WA), campgrounds (in CA and AZ) and waterways to name a few.He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a Bishop, counselor in the bishopric (in both ID and CA) and Scout Master....he loved people and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He especially loved working with the youth. Once when he was with the youth on a waterskiing activity they challenged him to waterski in his cowboy boots and he did! Neal was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Wayne; sister Alice Reinkie; and daughter Donna Fay Stamper. He is survived by his wife Beverly; his children: Anna Marie Cotterell of Kuna, ID, Neal Donald, Jr. of Kooskie, ID, Valerie Jo Pincock of Blackfoot, ID, Chalene Rokovitz of Kuna and James Wayne of Oakdale, CA; 29 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.Neal was a loving husband and a great father and will be dearly missed.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29 at the LDS Chapel located 224 E.
