Lowell Burton Tueller

Lowell Burton Tueller, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother passed from this life on November 17, 2018, at a care facility in Meridian, Idaho. Lowell was born in Paris, Idaho, on November 2, 1934 to Palmer Leland (Tom) and Dorothy Virginia Burton Tueller. He was the oldest of five children. Growing up, he lived an ideal childhood in a small community. He had freedom to run and play all day, with lots of friends and family around to love and care for him. He graduated from Fielding High School in 1952. He worked various jobs until he joined the Air Force in July of 1954. He married Gayle Peterson in Montpelier, Idaho, on March 10, 1956. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 21, 1963. They lived in Spokane, Washington, until he completed his military duty. After his discharge, they moved back to Paris and he worked construction until he had enough money saved to attend a Data Processing Course at Stevens- Henager College. He also took classes at the University of Utah while living in Salt Lake. He worked for the Salt Lake City Traffic Violation Department and for The Singer Company, in their regional Accounting Office, until their offices moved back east. The family then moved to Payette, Idaho, where he began his 13 years of work with Ore-Idaho Foods just across the border in Ontario, Oregon. Shortly after that, Ore-Ida moved their corporate offices to Boise and the family followed in 1968. In May of 1978, he began his 19 year career with Consolidated Freightways in their rate center, retiring in 1997. Lowell was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in two bishoprics, Sunday School President, Stake Missionary, Ward Clerk, Finance Clerk, Assistant in High Priests quorum and several other callings. He was a Temple Ordinance Worker in the Boise Temple for 4 1/2 years and served a mission with his wife in the Louisiana Baton Rouge Mission in 2002. He was preceded in death by his parents; a baby sister, Janice; a daughter in law, Ann Church Tueller; a granddaughter, Amanda Gayle Tueller and his stepfather, Owen Watterson. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Gayle; three sons, Robert, Steven and Thomas; a daughter Tracy Wyatt; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry (Sheila) and Dennis (Suzanne); and a sister Carol Wilcox (Ed); nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express our gratitude to St. Luke's Hospice, especially to Tami, Tara and Ermalinda and to the staff at the Care Center where Lowell lived for the past year.
