Dolores Mary Barton

Dolores Mary Schepis Barton Dee passed away on November 4, 2022. She was born on August 4, 1934, in Yatesboro, PA, to Frank and Angelina (Fear) Schepis. She lost her parents at an early age and after living with her sister, Carmella, for a short time, she went to foster homes. She attended numerous high schools in Youngstown, graduating from Woodrow Wilson High in 1952. In December of that year, she graduated from Practical Nursing Training, working in surgery at South Side Hospital. On February 1, 1955, Dee joined the U.S. Air Force and was shipped, after basic training, to Hamilton AFB in California. There she met Bob, who was also in the Air Force. They later married, and after, she received an Honorable Discharge. During their many assignments around the world, they had three children: Robert Jr. (April), Teresa Marie (Darrel) and Carmen K. (Adam). Dee and Robert Sr. have 17 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Dolores was preceded in death by both her parents; brothers, William and John Schepis; sisters: Carmella DeMarco, Rose Brill, Virginia Beebe, and Gloria Jean Schepis; her foster parents Art and Marge Figinsky; and foster siblings, Peggy Lopez and Dean Figinsky. Services: 10:30 AM, Thurs. Nov. 17 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1500 Smith Ave. in Nampa. Viewing: 9:30 AM, Thurs. prior to the services. Interment will be at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise, Idaho
