Norman William James

Norman William James, 87, passed away peacefully February 26, 2021 at his home in Melba, Idaho. He was born February 26,1934 in Sacramento, California to Walter J. James and Wilhelmina Sorensen James. He was raised in Sacramento and graduated from McClatchy high school. In 1953 he entered the army. On November 16, 1954 he married Marilyn Ann Jensen in the Logan Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In December of 1954 he was sent to Germany for his last year of his service. He worked as an apprentice carpenter, finished his trade school, and worked for Kauffman and Reynolds construction company. In1961 he received his contractor's license and remained self-employed until he retired. He belonged to the Lion's Club which did many charitable projects for the community. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Norman served for two years as a stake missionary, seven years as a missionary with Marilyn in the California Sacramento Mission and they also served for a year in Salt Lake in the Church's Family History Mission. He served as a cub master and scout master. He was a great influence on many boys. He and Marilyn were parents of seven children. He is survived by Marilyn, his loving wife of 66 years; their seven children: Chris (Susan) James, Brad (Tessa) James, Layne (Fe) James, Michelle (Dan) Perry, Wayde (Kathleen) James, Troy (Shauna) James, and Charisse Lee; 38 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 13, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 112 Randolph Avenue in Melba, Idaho.
