Vina Tai, 82, of Caldwell, passed away peacefully with her family by her side in Boise Thursday, August 26, 2016. Vina was born on January 1, 1934 in Yung-Ting Hsien, Fukien Province, China to Dai Ying-Sheng (Father) and Esther Dai Huang Ya-Ying (Mother). Her father passed away when she was very young and her mother, along with her two brothers, moved to Taiwan when the Communist took over China. Vina married Joseph Wen-Ko Tso in 1957, and divorced in 1976. Her only daughter Lydia was born in 1960. Vina graduated from Law and Commercial College and received her Bachelor Degree in Accounting and Statistics. She worked many years as an accountant for the Taiwan Post Office before immigrating to the United States in 1970. Vina settled in Costa Mesa, California where she owned and successfully managed Colonial Kitchen for many years. Vina lived in Riverside, CA for several years and finally settled in Caldwell, ID in 2010 to be with her daughter and grandchildren. Vina is survived by her brother Peter (Janie) Dai of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA; her daughter Lydia (Bob) Brady of Caldwell, ID; grandson Spencer (Brittney) Brady of Orem, UT; granddaughter Rebecca Brady of Caldwell, ID, granddaughter Robyn Brady of Caldwell, ID; great-grandson Blake, great-granddaughter Brighton; nieces Diane Dai, Lucy Dai; nephews Frederick Dai, Luke Dai and several cousins in CA, Taiwan and China. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Paul. Vina was a loving and giving mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a wonderful cook and very talented artist in Chinese painting and Chinese Calligraphy. She doted on her daughter and her grandchildren; they were her greatest joy. She will be greatly missed. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 31 at Canyon Hill Cemetery, 2024 North Illinois Ave, Caldwell. Arrangements by Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 467-7300.
