Velma Lorraine Mackey, 82, of Nampa, Idaho, died at her home Friday, April 30, 2016. She was born July 15, 1933 in Clifton, Colorado to Harry G. and Bessie M. Foote. She grew up in Grand Junction, Colorado where she graduated from high school and married Marion F. Mackey in 1952. She moved to California where "Mac" was stationed at Camp Pendleton Marine Base. They lived in California for 18 years before moving to Idaho in 1969. She was a devoted wife and a wonderful, loving mother and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, her cats, and traveling. She became one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1986 and loved to tell of her God and Bible promises. She is survived by her 2 children, Keith Mackey of Nampa, Michelle (Damon) Dunn of Emmett, and 2 grandsons, Dylan Dunn and Dalton Dunn, both of Emmett; 5 nephews, 2 nieces, 1 great niece, a great-great niece, cousins and many close friends that she considered family. She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, and 2 sisters. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 3:00pm at the Melba Cemetery under the direction for Zeyer Funeral Chapel. The service will be officiated by Br. Doug Blackburn of Jehovah's Witnesses. We would like to thank First Choice Home Care and their staff for the loving and compassionate care they gave our mother, as well as the support given to her family. Thank you to all that helped with our beloved mother during this difficult time to make things easier.
