Donald Ray Bennett

Donald Ray Bennett, 80, of Boise, Idaho, formerly of Wendover, NV, passed away at his home on Friday, April 11, 2014 due to natural causes. He was born May 16, 1933 in Wichita, Kansas to Ralph Aldon and Voyza Graves Bennett. He was raised and educated in Logan, Utah. He married Patricia Christensen and they had three children: Kathy (Tom) Hendricks, Beaver, UT, Janet (John) Morris, Evanston, WY and Chris Bennett, Clarkston, UT. They were later divorced. He then married Vendla (Bunny) Durfee in 1961 in Grantsville, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Boise LDS Temple. They had one daughter, Teresa Bennett of Nampa, ID. Donald was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. He owned and operated the tire store at Nevada Crossing Casino in Wendover, NV for a few decades. He loved bowling, woodworking and making gifts and giving his time and talents to others and he loved to anonymously give service. Donald is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the following siblings: Gert Tripp, Wendover, UT, Darrell (Sue) Bennett, and Gary Bennett, Salt Lake City, UT; and very special caregivers, Cory and Becky Kent (granddaughter). He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and five sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014 in the Devonshire LDS Ward Chapel, 5645 S. Maple Grove in Boise, ID. Interment will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, April 17 in the Grantsville Cemetery in Utah. Arrangements are under the direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa. 467-7300
