Leverl was born in Nora Nebraska on April 13, 1933. He grew up in Deshler Nebraska. During the depression his mom sung at dances and he went along to help. When he was 16 he moved out of home, bought a car and a bicycle. He was more excited about the bicycle than the car. Several of the cars he owned burned as much oil as gas. He traded cars so many times, one year they told him he would have to get a dealers license. He took off to Kansas City with a girl, was picked up by the cops for white slavery until they found out he was 16 and she was 18. They put him on a bus home. Growing up with a German last name during WWII was not easy. He met and married his first wife Barbara Davis in Deshler. They were married for 27 years and had four kids together. Sheri, Verl, Jim and Susie. He frequently worked two jobs to pay the rent and groceries. Some of the jobs he worked at was Coca Cola, State Highway crew, the Broom Factory, Deshler Roller Mills, and a Pure Bred SFF Hog Farm. When his first child was born he was almost fired from his job because he kept sneaking home to play with Sheri. After they moved to Idaho, they picked fruit and other odd jobs until Leverl got a job at Broadmore Mobile Homes, Fleetwood Industries. He laid carpet for 2 months, framing for 6 months and cabinet shop supervisor for one year. The balance of the time was spent as the receiving supervisor. He did so well at this the home office came to see how he managed to efficiently receive, store and distribute materials doing 8 homes a day with 4 people and 2 forklifts.Leverl and Roni met at Broadmore when Roni started as the receptionist. Roni started in January and by April they ran away from home together and were divorced and remarried by June 14. They were married for 43 years. There were bets at Broadmore on how long the marriage would last. I think we won. The first year was rough, but settled down after that.Moved to Utah and worked for Haliburton doing various jobs. Changing oil, guard duty, cement plantdelivering cement to the wells and cooking for the oil crews. Moved back to Idaho and worked for Kaufmanand Broad as the receiving supervisor until the business closed. Worked for a short time for OlympicPrefabrication and Modulair until lack of work and job was complete.Which took us to Hermiston Oregon where he was the Receiving Supervisor at Marlette Homes. You couldn't drive through the place without running over something. Items were stored whereever they were dumped. The last couple years he stepped down from the receiving job and installed tile. He retired when he was 67 and finished up working part time as a guard. We moved back to Idaho in 2019 living in a travel trailer in MelbaHe is survived by wife Roni, daughters Sheri (Greg) Stevens, Susie Pritchett (Denny Ellett), sons Verl (Donna), James(Sandy)and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildrenSurvived by Brother Lonnie (Irene) Milton (Susie) sister, Linda Kerr, sister-in-law Marita, Julie Schmidt and numerous nieces and nephews.
