Audrey F (Smith) Wermers, 81, of Caldwell passed away Sunday, October 12, 2014 at the Autumn Wind Assisted Living Center, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born the only child of Dale M Smith and Rachael B (Spencer) Jenkins. Audrey grew up in Sweet, New Meadows, and Boise, ID, and graduated from New Meadows High School in 1951. After graduation, she entered nurse's training at St. Luke's in Boise, and received her nursing degree in 1954. Audrey continued with graduate school, later becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the summer of 1967. She practiced nursing and anesthesia for over 30 years in the Boise region, always giving her all to serve the community. She was looking forward to a luncheon reunion next week with her nursing classmates from 60 years ago, and will be there in spirit. Audrey married Jack A Clark in February, 1955, and, from this marriage, she had a daughter (Lesli) and a son (Larry). She later married Roland (Rollie) W Wermers. She loved reading (especially the scriptures), her dogs, and her Boise State Broncos football. Audrey was preceded in death by various family members, including her parents and beloved husband, Rollie. She is survived by her daughter Lesli (Clark) Guches, son Larry Clark, and step-sons: Mike, Russ (Johanna), and Dan Wermers; her two half-sisters, Barbara Chilcott Loftis and Jan (Rick) Wade; step-sister Jody (Al) Domschot; step-brothers: John, Ed, Mike, and Doug Jenkins; grandchildren Nicolle and Brian Clark, and Heather (Chase) Nelson; step-grandchildren Samantha and Natalie Wermers; her only great-grandchild Kiele Gray; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express sincere thanks to the employees at Autumn Wind Assisted Living Community: your loving care is especially appreciated. A very special thanks to Rebecca Young, the hospice nurse; sister Jan for your loving help and for sitting with her at the hospital; Larry, Ric, and Les for moving her to Autumn Wind and for preparing her home for sale; and, most of all, to her sister Barb, for all of the support you provided through the years, often by yourself. You are a very special person. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2014 at the Sweet-Montour Cemetery in Sweet, Idaho. A Celebration of Audrey's life with a potluck reception will follow at the Sweet Grange Hall. Arrangements are being provided by Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa. 208-467-7300.
