Ila Marie Douty Camp, loving wife and mother went to be with her Lord and Savior December 10, 2016 at the age of 84. She was the daughter of Lauren Edgar and Gertrude Lillian Douty. She was born September 25, 1932 in Burns, Wyoming. She was the oldest of four children. She received her early education in Star and then attended Greenleaf Friends Academy and graduated High School in 1950. She married Melford Vernon Camp in January of 1952 after a whirlwind courtship of three weeks. They were married for 60 years at the time of Mel's passing on New Year's Day of 2013.During their married life they lived in Caldwell, Boise and Greenleaf until they moved to Yuma, Arizona for several years, then to Norman, Oklahoma to be near Lion and Lamb Ministries.Ila was a homemaker while her three girls were of grade school age. She then went to work at Caldwell Memorial Hospital for many years. She later went to work for Caxton Printers until she retired. She then went with dad on his long haul truck driving trips and they traveled and saw 48 states together.Ila enjoyed sewing dresses for her three girls and made matching shirts for dad and dresses for herself. She played the piano and accordion for the different churches here in Canyon and Ada counties, and also while she lived in Arizona. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and canning, puzzle books and reading.Ila was preceded in death by her parents Lauren and Gertrude Douty; her husband Melford Camp; sister-in-law LaBerta Douty and baby niece Kathryn Douty. She is survived by daughters: Carolyn (Phil) Mullins, Rebecca (Kenny) Taylor both of Nampa, Margaret (Dave) Witt of Caldwell; 10 grandchildren: Cliff (Stacia) Fine, Angela Robling, Crystal Ricks of Nampa, Vanessa Mullins of Colton, Oregon and Cory Mullins of Portland, Oregon; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Henry (Corrine) Douty of Meridian, Idaho, Dean (Marilyn) Douty and Delbert Douty of Greenleaf, Idaho.The family would like to thank all the staff at Sunnyridge Nursing Home for their wonderful care of mom these last two years.In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Greenleaf Friends Academy at 20565 Academy Road, Greenleaf, Idaho 83626.
