Peggy Louise (Frisch) Friddle passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 4, 2021. Peggy was born May 9, 1932 in Colorado to John and Ida Frisch. When Peggy was six years old, she and her family moved to Melba, Idaho. There she attended Melba Schools and worked on the family farm along with her parents and nine siblings. Growing up, she was involved in school and community activities, including being the Lettuce Bowl Queen in 1951 at the age of 19. Peggy also babysat many children in the community.On June 8, 1951, Peggy married her high school sweetheart, Richard (Dick) William Friddle. Upon completion of Dick's Air Force Basic Training, they were stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi, where they lived for four years. While living there, Peggy worked at the local pharmacy story developing film and during this time gave birth to their first son, Richard (Rick) W. Friddle II on Aug. 8, 1953. After Dick completed his Air Force service, they returned to Melba, Idaho, to farm with Dick's parents, Clen and Edith Friddle. Peggy was again involved in school and community events, such as being a Cub Scout Den Mother. They added to their family with the birth of their second child, Thomas (Tom) Friddle on July 22, 1966. With both sons, the family farmed together for many years. As the sons had their own families, their families worked on the family farm too.On March 25, 1997, tragedy struck when Dick lost his battle with lung cancer. Peggy became the family leader, rearing her grandchildren and instilling in them crucial life lessons as well as a good work ethic that they carry on today. In later years, she served as the secretary for the Melba Historical Museum. Peggy loved to bake and garden and many people were the recipients of her home-made food and beautiful flowers. She also cooked many meals for people that worked on the farm.Peggy is survived by her sons, Rick and his wife Gayle Friddle of Melba, and Tom and his wife Mary Friddle of Melba. Also surviving her are her grandchildren: Sumer and Brent Bradshaw, Heather Friddle, Rebecca Sayers and her husband, Jonathan Ott, Noelle and Mike Hill, Matthew Friddle, and Nicholas Friddle, Six great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson, her siblings, Dorothy Hietala of California, Joyce and Mick Oswald of Arizona, Gary (Butch) and Margaret Frisch of Nampa, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Friddle; his parents, Clen and Edith Friddle; her parents, John and Ida Frisch; siblings: Jim (and Dorothy) Frisch Jack Frisch, Frank Frisch, Betty Huter, John Frisch, Kenny Frisch; brother-in-law, Bill Hietala; Dick's sister and husband, Shirley and Bill Miller.There will be a graveside service at Melba Cemetery, Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, at 11:00am. This will be followed by a dinner at the Melba Senior Center. The family would like to thank Horizon Hospice for the loving care they gave to Peggy. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Salvation Army or The Melba Historical Museum.
