Ronald Ward

Ronald Duane Ward, 84, passed peacefully in his home Sunday, July 10, 2016 after fighting multiple health issues for a long time. His wife of 37 years, Nedra was with him. Ron was born November 23, 1931 in Brunswick, Nebraska to Curtis and Lola Palmer Ward. He was the fifth child of 10. He moved to Idaho with his family where he has resided for most of his adult life. He attended school in Caldwell and after high school, Ron joined the U.S. Navy. For the greatest part of his life, Ron was a mechanic. He worked for many years as a tire and alignment guy. He worked for several companies in his years of service, and he had a strong reputation in his field. He also worked for Nishitani Farms for 22 years. On September 3, 1978 Ron married Nedra. With that marriage, Ron also became Papa to Bonnie and Michelle. Ron and Nedra have been married and best friends for 37 years. Ron retired at the age of 62. He and Nedra lived in Nampa and helped to raise their granddaughter Nikayla. The couple shared the good things in life as well as caring for each other during the more challenging times. Ron is survived by his wife Nedra; stepdaughter Michelle; granddaughter Nikayla; two great-grandchildren; his sisters: Dorothy Tucker, Judy Cornelius, Ruth (Ray) Wells and Patsy (Roger) Daniels; and brother Walter (Jodi) Ward; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepdaughter Bonnie; brothers Charles "Babe" Ward and Harold Ward; his sisters Mildred Thomas and June Taylor. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 Horseshoe Bend Road in Boise.
