Shirley Watson was born November 7, 1931, to Floyd E. and Eva Jane Boyd Jones in Lacombe, Alberta, Canada. She was the youngest of five girls. She started her schooling in Lacombe and at the age of 9 she moved with her family to Auburn, Washington, where she finished grade school. She attended and graduated high school at Auburn Academy. She went to Walla Walla College and received her teaching certificated in elementary education. While in Walla Walla, she met Dale Lambeth. In August of 1951, she married Dale. In 1954, a daughter, Pamela, was born in Pendleton, Oregon. Dale built houses with Eldon Yates in Oregon, Washington, and Alaska for many years, until his passing in 1978. In 1979, Shirley married Don Watson. Don liked adventure. They had a 32' sailboat that they put to good use. Don decided to build a new boat, the Freedom 1, and off they went on other adventures on the navigable rivers of North America, from the east coast to the west coast, up through Canada and Southern Alaska and back again. The couple lived in many places over the years. They retired in Caldwell, Idaho after many adventures on land and rivers.Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Eva Jones; her husbands Dale Lambeth and Don Watson; three sisters: Averil Jones, Floris Schuttpelz, and Dorothy Ridgley. She is survived by her daughter Pamela Lambeth Juhl; one sister Audrey O'Neal; nieces & nephews: Bonnie McCorniac, Evalinne May, Greg Crain, Larry Ridgley and Lee Rigley.A memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM, Wednesday, August 24 at the Caldwell Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2106 E Linden St in Caldwell.
