A. Blair Osterhout

A. Blair Osterhout passed away peacefully of natural causes on June 24, 2020. Blair was born in American Falls, Idaho on July 7, 1931 to Thomas Alvin Osterhout and Minnie Preston Osterhout. He had an extraordinary childhood filled with love and adventure. His best friends were his three brothers, Preston, Grant, and Nile. He attended school in Rupert, Idaho and graduated from Rupert High School in 1949. One of Blair's favorite memories was working in the winter of 1948 on the Union Pacific Railroad with his father. He played the saxophone in the Rupert Marching Band and he loved playing the piano by ear. Following High School Blair joined the United States Coast Guard. He married Lynn Spargo on March 1, 1952 in Burley, Idaho. Together they had 5 children, 3 girls and 2 boys. He spent most of his career as a Real Estate Broker, selling farms and ranches. He loved showing ranches to his clients on horseback: some of which included John Wayne and Art Linkletter. Blair was a wonderful father and was dearly loved and will be missed by his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Lynn and daughters Kristen (Robert) McArthur of American Fork, Utah, Geri Osterhout of Nampa, Idaho, Joan (Kelly) Frederiksen of Nampa, Idaho. His Sons Mark (Julie) Osterhout of Meridian, Idaho, Mike (Jill) Osterhout of Twin Falls, Idaho; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sister Dorothy who died at birth, his three brothers and a grandson, Kolton. A viewing will be held on Monday June 29, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30am at Zeyer Funeral Chapel located at 83 N. Midland Blvd Nampa, Idaho. A graveside ceremony will take place at 2:00pm on the same day at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Caldwell, Idaho.
