Richard Warren Smith, 87, of Nampa passed away Friday, February 8, 2019 at a local hospital. Warren was born May 22, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Wallace Ross and Katherine Gladys Irvine Smith. He grew up in Salt Lake City and attended East High School and University of Utah and while serving in the Army he received and Electronics degree. He was married to Joyce Annette Rawlings 15 July 1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Joyce passed away. He later married Carolyn Marie Mesna 11 May 1963 in Elko, Nevada.He used his electronics degree to become an electronics technician and after taking the Sea Nymph Shipyard Course he traveled around and installed electronic devices for GTE Sylvania Electronics.Warren was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and in his early years served a mission for the Church in Richmond, Virginia. He loved building model air planes and ships. He was easy to get along with and tried to please all.Warren is survived by his wife Carolyn; his children: David (Misti) Smith, Richard (Sharon) Smith, Troy Smith, and Heather Binger; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 16, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 3007 Sunnyridge Rd in Nampa with a viewing from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
