Ted Clarence Peck

Dr. Ted Clarence Peck, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away of natural causes on April 11, 2023, at his home in Meridian, Idaho, at the age of 91. Ted was born in Wilford, Idaho (near Rexburg), on April 19, 1931, to Franklin Clyde Peck and Mary Blanche Valentine Peck. He was the youngest of six children. In 1935, his family moved to the Boise area where he was raised and attended school. During his years at Boise High School, he excelled in the sport of baseball and was one of the team's top players. In 1947, he played on a Boise American Legion team that won state and regional championships. After winning the Northwest Sectional Tournament, he and his teammates got to meet Babe Ruth at their awards banquet. After high school graduation in 1949, Ted worked for the Mountain States Telephone Company as a linesman and cable splicer. In 1951, he was drafted into the US Army during the Korean War. Because of his linesman training he was assigned to serve in Yokohama, Japan, where he maintained telephone equipment for various military bases. After his release from the service in 1953, he married the love of his life, Beverly Barron, whom he had dated since high school. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ted attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and graduated with a degree in chemistry in 1957. He graduated with a DMD degree in dentistry from University of Oregon (now OHSU) in 1961, and started a practice in Boise. Ted worked for the next thirty-eight years as a general dentist, building up a large and successful practice. Ted was active in his church and served in many teaching and leadership positions, including Bishop of the Boise 11th Ward and Stake President of the Boise North Stake. He later served for over thirty years as a stake Patriarch and ordinance worker in the Boise and Meridian Temples. He and Beverly served a mission for the Church Education System in New York City from 2000 to 2001. Faith in Jesus Christ and devotion to His church were part of Ted's heart and soul. Ted and Beverly are the parents of six sons and a daughter: Robert (Jean) Peck, David (Carol) Peck, Daniel Peck, Anthony (Pennie) Peck, Timothy (Carolee) Peck, Rhonda Peck and Aaron (Katie) Peck. They have twenty-two grandchildren and forty-two great-grandchildren, whom they love very much. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, older siblings Phyllis Kelly, Faye Thompson, LaPriel Dimick, Nolene Breen, Gary Peck and a grandson, Trevor Peck. The Peck family would like to thank the dedicated caregivers who helped their father during his final months of life. Their kindness is greatly appreciated. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023, 11:00 am, in the LDS chapel at 3775 E. Ustick Road in Meridian, Idaho. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30-10:45 am. Interment will be at the Cloverdale Cemetery in Boise, Idaho. Services are under the direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel.
