Frank Lyman Fackrell

Frank Lyman Fackrell Sr., 86 years old, passed away at home April 12, 2017. Frank was born March 12, 1931, in Homedale, Idaho. Born to Alice (White) and Jim Fackrell, he was the eighth of nine children. During his growing up years, Frank and his family moved from the Meridian/Kuna area to Danner, Oregon, and then to Homedale. Growing up during WWII, he told of how he "Did a man's day work at 10 years old" working in the fields next to German POW's that also worked in the fields in the Homedale area. He later went on to join the Army and served in the Korean War. In 1955, he married Anna Hoyt. They would spend the next 57 years together until her passing in 2012. During his working years, he had various jobs, including saw mills, potato packing sheds, foreman for Davey Tree Co., auto body repair, and warehouse work at Container and Packaging Supply. He also served the Savior in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including Scouting, Sunday School, and as a counselor in 2 bishoprics. Frank and Anna also served two proselyting missions in Tennessee and Texas. Frank had a great influence on his children, as well as his nephews and nieces during their growing up years. He shared many a campfire with them and his many Scouts also. He loved going to Oregon and visiting his relatives and fishing or hunting when he could. Having learned gardening from his mother, it was one of his passions. This is a love he has passed down to other generations. He also was a very talented wood carver and made many carvings of birds and animals and several complete chess sets. He rendered service wherever he could. Having felt the pains of having children pass before him, he is preceded in death by his daughter Deanna and his son Frank, also his wife Anna, siblings: Chuck, Clyde, Lucy, Hazel, Clinton, and Ethel. He is survived by his daughter, Sandy (Jay) Young, sons Brad (Becky) and Kelly (Vicki); 17 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 14 at the Kuna Stake Center, 3305 West Kuna Road in Kuna.
