Iris Marie KendallIris Marie Kendall, 86, of Boise, Idaho, passed away into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, of natural causes.She was born on January 31, 1931 in Ontario, Oregon to Bud and Hazel Sherman. She grew up on a ranch in Ironside, Oregon, and stayed with her grandmother and grandfather Westfall in Ontario to attend school until her family moved to Ontario where she graduated from high school.Iris worked at the Ontario Public Library from her 9th grade year to 12th grade, after school and Saturdays. She always took down the flag, never allowing the flag to touch the ground. After high school she worked at a drycleaners and as a telephone operator.Iris Sherman married Keith Kendall on September 3, 1950. She then took on her most important career decision, that of being a mother and homemaker. They had four children, two boys and two girls in that order and 2 years apart. That was her plan and God granted her that wish. While raising these little rascals she managed the Allen Apartments on 3rd street in Boise, collecting rent and cleaning the common areas. She also worked as a temp. for the family business, Kendall Employment Plus. During this time she made Kendall Cookies for the company clients and also catered the weekly employee lunch. She also managed the office during company meeting time and would also hand out paychecks to hundreds of temporary employees.Iris and Keith enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. Together they visited 22 countries and made many friends along the way.In their retirement years they moved to Melba and became a valued part of the community.Iris is survived by two sisters, Ileana Oakes of Ironside and Bonnie Vincent of Albany, Oregon; sons Ted (Mary) Kendall of Denver; Dennis (Amy) Kendall of Nampa; daughters Nancy (Ron) Porter of Parma; Beve (Al) Bryant of Boise; ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Julie Steiniker of Payette; Helen Adkins of Ontario; brother Hank Sherman of Portland; granddaughters Tara Granden and Rachel Porter.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N. Midland Blvd. Nampa. Burial will be held at the Melba Cemetery at 2:30p.m. on Saturday."See you in heaven, but don't hurry."
