Kenneth Dale Hartley was born 6, Oct. 1930 to Richard and Edith Higley Hartley in Gooding, Idaho. He was the 7th of 8 children; five boys and three girls. His schooling was in Hagerman, Kuna and Nampa, Idaho He served in the Korean conflict leaving the service with an honorable discharge. He married Lois Fay Skogsberg in 1950. They were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1955. His life's work included service in the military and as a husband and father, teaching youth in the LDS Church and as a farmer for 43 years. He was often asked what he grew on the farm. The answer was always "My most important crop was the kids!" His immediate living family consists of 5 children: Renna Simpson (Eddy) Russell (Carmen), Mitchell (Joy), Todd (Nancy) and Dr. Loren (Ann) Hartley. He and Lois have 25 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Harvey and R. Thairel Hartley and 2 sisters: Gwendolyn Jackson and Dorothy Thompson; his parents and a great grandson Lincoln Hartley. His living siblings are: Keith and Leonard (Valois) Hartley and sister Olive Hennis of Nampa. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, in the Nampa 3rd Ward LDS Chapel, 18463 Northside Blvd. Nampa. A viewing will be held on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N. Midland Blvd. Nampa, and at the church on Monday from 9-9:45 a.m. prior to the service.
