Hazel Verna Quenzer

Hazel Verna Quenzer, 88, a long time residence of Meridian passed away Friday,June 29, at her daughter's home surrounded by her daughters.. Hazel was born July 16,1929 in Meridian ,Idaho to Henry Bernard Steinebach and Iva Elizabeth Casper Steinebach. Hazel attended several schools,Sunny Slope,Meridian schools, Danford in Portland ,Oregon and Central Cove in Homedale, Idaho. She married Milbert Quenzer on Sept 8,1946. They settled in Meridian where they bought 20 acres and Milbert built a home for his bride.There they raised four daughters and two sons. She loved her children and did not like it when they were marrying and leaving the nest. She helped Milbert when he bought Sturdi-Built Model Manfacture. It took her out of the home which she did not like and was glad when Milbert moved the business back home where she could be at home with her children.She loved to cook, embroidery ,make quilts, can food and loved her garden and garden of flowers. Her favorite was gladiolus. She loved to raise chickens. Hazel and Milbert bought a cabin in Cascade. That was her favorite get away. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas when all if her family gathered and sang Christmas songs. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints and on October 26,2002,was sealed to her sweetheart for all eternity. She is survived by her brother Le Roy Steinebach of Kansas,5 children: Marcine Quenzer of Nampa, Ron and Darlene Zechmann of Nampa,Bert Jr. and Lynn of Emmett,Lee and Tami of Emmett, Verna and Dave Slagel of Kuna , 26 grandchildren,52 great-grandchildren,and 1great-great grandchild. Her husband,Milbert Quenzer,a daughter,Gina Thomas, a grandson Jared Quenzer,10 brothers and 3 sisters preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers,the family would like memorial donations to DL Evans Bank "Hazel Quenzer 0994" .
