Frank William Lara was born in New York City, NY to Francisco J. Lara and IsadoraB (Puga) Lara on June 7, 1929. He passed away from COVID on December 1, 2021.He was 92 years old.He married Judith Ann Lemm in Los Gatos, CA on October 2, 1971. Theycelebrated their 50th anniversary this year.He is survived by wife Judy, daughter Tina Marie Lara, step daughters JanineAnnette La Branch, Lisa Mary Overbay (John), 10 grandchildren 12 greatgrand children, and brother E. Ronald Lara(Trice). He was preceded in death by hisparents, sons Dean Christopher Lara, Kim Anthony (Tony) Lara, stepsons GaryWayne LaBranch and Michael Eric LaBranch, and sister Marie (George) Moore.Several nieces and nephews.Frank attended Manhattan Prep and went on to receive BS degree from theSchool of Forestry Syracuse, NY. He spent two years in Liberia, Africa working inthe bush under the Point Four Program. He returned and worked as a forestranger, followed by public relations and advertising for forestry relatedcompanies and organizations. He was head of public relations and advertising forSanta Clara Co. Transportation Agency. He owned and operated Sierra Publishingin Citrus Heights, CA.In his younger years he enjoyed skiing, backpacking, and flying. He and Judy livedon a sailboat for 9 years in the Sea of Cortez. He had his amateur radio license,advanced class, KG6UV. He loved traveling which to him to Europe, Japan,Australia, Central America, Mexico, Hawaii, and Alaska.While a Rotarian Frank was a major donor for Rotary and was also a post gradalumni supporter.
