Alice Jean Burney Hunter

Alice Jean Hunter Burney, daughter of Frank Glen Foster and Alice Bernice Foster, was born December 7th, 1928, in Methodist Hospital, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. She was married to Robert Wardell Burney on August 5, 1956, and began raising their "Forever Four"; Debra, De Juana, Doyle, and Dwight. They moved from Nebraska, to settle in Idaho and purchased their first home in Payette in 1969. Robert passed away that same year and Alice Jean labored hard in all areas of her life, as a teacher, CNA, school bus driver, and school custodian. Her commitment to motherhood was strong; she passionately taught her children how to work and play hard. Life was not without its hills and valleys for Alice Jean and the "Forever Four" but her faith in God and strength carried them all. Faithful in her love for God, Alice Jean never boasted her devotion but displayed it in her acts of love to those around. She quietly departed this life on Thursday, November 21, 2019, surrounded by her children and friends. Alice Jean was preceded in death by Robert Wardell Burney in July of 1969. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Debra (Jeff) Wood, De Juana Burney, Doyle (Cheri) Burney, and Dwight Burney. She is also survived by her grandchildren Charity (Dave) Yerian, Taylor Wood, Rachael (Joe) Schussler, Robert Burney, Genevieve Burney, and Zachary Burney; and her great grandchildren Reese Yerian, Aspen Wood, Hadley Schussler, and Houston Schussler.
