Katherine Virginia Peirsol, 96, passed away with her daughters by her side, Friday September 8, 2023 at Autumn Wind Assisted Living Community. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She will be missed by her extended family.Virginia was born September 29, 1926 in Houston, Texas. Her family moved to Melba, Idaho her senior year of high school. At Melba, she met and married the love of her life, Robert Harold Peirsol, on Flag Day June 14, 1947. She was an only child and was delighted to marry into a large family. Virginia and Robert worked and saved to start farming on West Dooley Lane in Nampa the Spring of 1948. They planted and harvested crops, milked dairy cows and raised a family. They enjoyed square dancing, reading, hunting and fishing. Virginia loved animals and spent time growing a big beautiful garden. Her berry cobblers and hearty meals were a family favorite. She loved ice cream and chocolate milk.In 1995, she and Robert retired from farming, they would enjoy traveling North America in a motor home. This included trips to Alaska and across the USA with Robert's siblings to visit family. Virginia was an avid genealogist and they would visit old homesteads and distant relatives. Many distant family members would continue to correspond with her for many years because of her warm and open personality.Virginia is survived by her children: Gerald Peirsol, Carol McArthur, Betty White and John Peirsol, 12 grandchildren and their extended families. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 73 years, Robert Peirsol, her Mother Garnet (Ogden) Sneed; and son-in-law Pete McArthur.Service at Kolherlawn Cemetery, Nampa Idaho at 11am on 23 September 2023.Family and friends are invited to Melba Senior Center following services for a meal.The family of Virginia Peirsol would like to thank Keystone Hospice for their dedicated care and compassion during this difficult time.
