Alan Fredrick Missman was called home to his Father in Heaven on January 15, 2019, at the age of 92. He died at home peacefully.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 112 Randolph St. in Melba, Idaho. Burial will follow at Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens in Boise, Idaho. A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, January 25 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd, Nampa and again at the Church from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. Saturday prior to the services. Condolences may be expressed at zeyerfuneralchapel.com.Alan was born August 7, 1926 in Council, Idaho, the son of Rolland Albert and Almira Josephine Garrett Missman. Shortly after his birth the family moved to Nampa and then to Boise where Alan Attended several elementary schools and Franklin High School. Alan moved to Olympia, Washington to live with his aunt and uncle. He graduated from Olympia High School in May 1944. After graduating from high school, Alan enlisted in the naval service where he served in the submarine services. He was discharged from the Navy on July 1, 1946. Shortly after his discharge, he returned to Boise where he attended one semester at Boise Junior College. Alan met his future wife, Irene Vivian Farnlund on a blind date on March 17, 1951. There were married on June 3, 1951 in Winnemucca, Nevada. After their first child, Julia, was born they moved to Alderwood Manor in Washington State. Their second child, Pamela, was born while they lived in Washington. In 1962 they returned to Boise because of Alan's ailing father. Another daughter, Kimberly was born a year later.While living in Washington, both Irene and Alan joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.Alan is survived by his wife of 67 years Irene of Nampa; three children: Julia Ann (Gerry) Wallace of Emmett, Pamela Annette (Kenneth) McKay of Nampa and Kimberly Irene (Kelly) Kissel of Pocatello; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; his brother Rolland Albert Missman, Jr. of California; and several nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death.
