OBITUARY FOR DONNA ZIGLER YOUNG JENSEN Donna Zigler Young Jensen, 97, passed away peacefully at her home in Nampa, Idaho surrounded by her family on October 12, 2023. Born April 1, 1926, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Elda and Ivy Edell Pittman Zigler. Donna grew up and was educated through high school in Indianapolis. She continued her education at Brigham Young University where she met and married Joseph Carl Young (Carl). Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 20, 1949. They had many adventures together including having three sons, Don Carlos, Michael Cid, and James Anthony (Tony). One of their biggest adventures included living in Tegucigalpa, Honduras where Donna, Carl and their boys got to experience three different revolutions. Donna and Carl were married until the time of his death in 1985. Donna was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and she served in many and various callings throughout her life. She spent many years working in the Primary program and one of her greatest joys in life was working with children. She spent many hours caring for her grandchildren as they were growing up and they had wonderful adventures together. Donna worked for the State of Idaho in various different capacities for 15 years and retired in 1989. In October 2002 Donna married John Raymond Jensen, a man that she had been friends with as a teenager during World War II when he was stationed in Indianapolis. He was a great companion to her and she quickly became part of his family as he did in hers. They were married until the time of his death in 2018. Donna is survived by her brothers: Jim Zigler (Mary Lou), Robert Zigler (Jennifer), her son James Anthony Young (Kai), her daughters-in-law: Sherri Young-Scoresby (Rene) and LouRae Young, her grandchildren: Jenni Kenley (Steve), Zakary Young (Jennifer), Jeremy Young (Marianne), Jessica Detwiler, Promise Rose Horton (Darren), her great grandchildren: Brenden Kenley (Megan), Baylee Kenley, Morgan Bradshaw (Pierce), Reece Young, Jarrod Detwiler, Parker Johnson, Haydin Johnson, Chloe Johnson, Ashlynn Young and Anaiya Young, her great-great grandson Maverick, and all of her Jensen family. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Joseph Carl Young and John Raymond Jensen, her parents: Elda and Ivy Edell Pittman Zigler, her brothers: Albert Marshall Zigler and Kenneth Zigler, and her sons: Don Young and Michael Young. Funeral services will be held at Zeyer's Funeral Chapel on Tuesday October 17, 2023 at 2pm.
