Elmer Crew, 92, of Nampa passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Sunnyridge Retirement. Elmer was born January 15, 1926 to Carroll M. Crew and Sarah E. Pim Crew in Greenleaf, Idaho.Elmer spent two years in the Navy during the last part of WWII. During this time he married Willa Harlow. He was discharged from the service as a Seaman 1st Class. They returned to Idaho where he did some farming and eventually went to work for Idaho Meat Packers. He and Willa had four children (two died in infancy) they were later divorced.In 1963 he married Louella Harris Dillon and became Dad to three more children. Elmer and Louella loved to go on trips with the travel trailer and later in their motorhomes. They traveled to Europe, Africa, South America, Canada, and to all 50 states. Elmer taught not only the kids and grandkids but their friends all how to water ski. They also enjoyed many years at their cabin on West Mountain. They loved to go snowmobiling in the winter and dirt biking in the summer time. Then when they went to Arizona in the winter they rode their dune buggies. Elmer was always up for an adventure.Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters: Grace Rambo, Hazel Martin, Margaret Dodd and Pauline Darrow; two infant sons; son Ronald Dillon; grandson Neil Dillon and son-in-law Byron Caldwell. He is survived by his wife Louella Crew of 54 years; children: Pamela Lawrence (Art West), Randall Crew (Judy), Marcia Caldwell and Richard Dillon (Kathy); grandchildren: Alicia Lawrence of Fairfield, Idaho, Candice Crew (Mike Dommert) of Ketchum, Idaho, Cindra Daniels (John) of El Paso, Texas, Todd Caldwell, (Heidi) of Richland, Washington, Traci Morgan (Michael) of Nampa, Heather Sabala (Chris) of Boise, Jeremie Baker (Julie) of Georgia, Brooke Burt (Bernie) of Richland Washington, Crystal Hunsaker (Thayne) and Jessie Jordan Thea of Nampa; great-grandchildren: Dylan Caldwell (Chelsea Sisemore), Blake Kuhl, Jaclyn Morgan, Sam Caldwell, Anthony Wood, Aaliyah Burt, Liam and Landon Hunsaker, Journey and Oakley Jordan, Sydney, Brody, Lilah and Jemma Baker; nephew Larry Hedgren (Joan) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24 at the Greenleaf Cemetery, 21073 Main St. in Greenleaf. A celebration of Life will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Meridian Friends Church, 1021 W. Pine St. Meridian.
