Leslie Raymond Thacker, 91, of Nampa, ID, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017 in a Boise hospital. He was born February 12, 1925 in Kimberly, Idaho to Francis and Mary Thacker. As a boy his family farmed all over the Kimberly area. He loved his parents and siblings and always spoke so fondly of them. He met the love of his life, LeOra Mae Kelly while working for her father. They were married September 4, 1949 to Elko NV. They lived in Gooding the earlier part of their marriage. While there they lost their 2nd son to a firearm accident. They moved to Mackay for a short time before settling in the Middleton area. There he ranched for 11 years. He survived a high voltage electrical shock, staying in the hospital for many many weeks, which caused him to change professions. He became a carpenter, loving to work and create things with his hands. He built many homes for his children and many others. Sometime during all of this they lost a daughter to a motorcycle accident. Les and LeOra are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Caldwell 5th Ward. They served two missions; one in St. Louis Missouri and the other in Raleigh, North Carolina. They also served over a quarter century as temple workers. Leslie was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; two children Leslie Rick and Penney. He is survived by his wife LeOra Mae, of 68 years; daughter Debbie Wilson of Nampa ID; son Robert Lynn (Clara Sue) Thacker of Middleton ID; son Matthew Renee Thacker of Okanogan, WA; daughter Cindy (Galen) Lee of Fruitland ID; and daughter Stacey (Kevin) Stevens of Ashton ID. His precious legacy includes 23 grandchildren and 58 great-grandchildren.In lieu of flowers, please donate to the LDS Missionary Fund or a charity of your choice. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21 in the Caldwell 5th Ward Chapel at 18486 Middleton Rd. Nampa. A viewing will be from10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Interment will be Monday Jan, 23 at 1:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial gardens, Caldwell Id Arrangements are under the direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa. 467-7300
