Paul Edgar Maucher, 95, of Melba passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019, in Nampa, ID. Members of his family and friends were present. Paul was born March 23, 1924, in Olney Springs, CO, to Charles Wesley Maucher and Mary Ada Mathews Maucher. He was the 4th of seven children. He married Stella LaRee Brown on December 24, 1946, in Melba, ID. Paul and LaRee were the parents of four children. Paul served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European theater. He was member of 482nd Anti-aircraft battalion, which was assigned to the 9th "Phantom" Armored Division during the Battle of the Bulge. His hearing was severely damaged and both feet frozen during these operations, which lead to hospitalization in France and being discharged.Paul left high school to join the army, but completed his high school diploma after returning from the war. He worked at many occupations including water supervisor for the State of Utah, ranch hand, janitorial services, railroad worker, and maintenance.Paul and his children joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1957 and was sealed to LaRee and to his children in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in 1960. At the time of his death, he was a member of the Celebration Park Ward in Melba, ID.Paul and his family lived in multiple places throughout his life including Olney Springs and Pueblo, CO; Marsing, Kuna, Melba, Nampa and Garden City, ID; and Park City, Salt Lake City and Brighton, UT.Paul was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Robert (Bob), James (Jim) and Norman; sisters Ruby Vogt and Betty Whited; a grandchild and two great-grandchildren.He is survived by his sister Dorothy (Dot) Chetney of CT; daughters Mary "Jolene" (Mrs. Ron Mitchell) of Melba, ID, and Gladys Rose (Mrs. Mike Webb) of Boise, ID; sons Roy Allen Maucher (Sandra) of Sandy, UT, and Charles (Chuck) Wesley Maucher of Troutdale, OR; 13 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Celebration Park Ward, 112 Randolph St. in Melba with a viewing from 2 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the services.
