Helen Beth Heaton Montgomery, age 96, passed away from natural causes on January 21, 2018, at the home of her daughter, Kathryn A. Montgomery Smith in Meridian, Idaho. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. She was born September 16, 1921, in Ririe, Idaho, and was next to the youngest of eight children born to Jonas Sinclair and Annie Jane Harris Heaton. She was married and sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple to Jerald Clifford Montgomery October 3, 1940. They were blessed with four children: Gary L. Montgomery (Marilyn), Robert C. Montgomery (Debora), Kathryn A. Smith (Larry) and Michael T. Montgomery (Jean).Helen was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many different capacities in the Church. She especially enjoyed the Relief Society Organization where she served as Relief Society President 3 times and also served as a counselor in the Stake Relief Society. She and Cliff served in the Boise LDS Temple for over 16 years and also served a mission for the Church. Helen was an avid reader and also enjoyed writing poetry. She had a fun sense of humor and was friendly and outgoing. She was a wonderful hostess and her family members always enjoyed going to her home for holiday gatherings and dinners. Helen is survived by her four children; 18 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018, at the LDS Church located at 1450 West Cayuse Creek Drive, Meridian (near Rocky Mountain High School). A viewing for family and friends will be from 10-10:45a.m. prior to the funeral. A graveside service to follo0w at Dry Creek Cemetery in Boise, Idaho.
