Vonda Rising, age 99, died on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at the Park Place Assisted Living Community in Nampa, Idaho. From her birth in Rigby, Idaho on March 28, 1921 to her death, last Thursday, she was known to the people around her for her tireless work ethic, love of her family, and devotion to her faith. Vonda was born in Rigby to George and Mary (Harmon) Hill and was the youngest and last surviving of 12 children. In 1936, during her sophomore year at Rigby High School Vonda met Bruce Rising. Bruce had come to visit her brother Garold at their family's home, and Vonda entertained Bruce while he waited. The next time Bruce would visit their home it would be to see Vonda. Vonda and Bruce Rising were married June 21, 1939 in Rigby and spent the next 51 years together until Bruce's passing in 1990. Left to honor Vonda and remember her love is her son Lyle Rising; four grandchildren: Val Cranney, Brian Cranney, Brenna (Rising) Baker, and Kevin Rising; 11 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Vonda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, her sisters: Myrtle, Josie, Thelma, and Melba; brothers: Orsie, Edgar, Harold, Earl, Reynold, Dorward, and Garold; and her daughters Sharlene and Annette. The family welcomes family and friends to attend a viewing from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Friday, August 14, 2020 at the Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd in Nampa, Idaho Burial and Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, August 17, at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery, 4023 Ririe Hwy in Rigby, Idaho.
