Betty Winston

Betty Victoria Winston, age 96, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2024 of natural causes at Grace Assisted Living in Caldwell, Idaho. Betty was born March 2, 1928 in Bellevue, Idaho to Elizabeth Lee Gardner and Franklin Davis Jones. Betty was the 8th of 9 brothers and sisters. Betty graduated from Hailey High School in 1945 and was always at the top of her class with good grades. Betty met her future husband, Dale, on a blind date arranged by Dale’s brother Bill. The blind date was successful! They were married on April 1st, 1949 . . . . together they were united 70 years on earth. Dale and Betty were converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fresno, California, in August of 1956. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Oakland, California Temple on October 14, 1980. Together they had raised five children: Victoria (Richard) Abel, Linda Winston, Kenneth (Tamra) Winston (Kenneth passed away at his home in Washington on December 24, 2019), Cynthia (Lynn) Beus, and Curtis (Chris) Winston. Betty is survived by four of her children, 14 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. Betty is also survived by one sister, Elsie and countless nieces and nephews. Betty enjoyed family activities, camping, and bowling. Betty was active in her church. She gave her time lovingly to the children in her Primary and Sunday School classes. Betty was a wonderful mother and homemaker, an outstanding seamstress, cook, baker, and decorator. After her children were grown Betty extended her homemaking skills, to owning - managing and running a Baskin Robbins Ice Cream store in Boise, Idaho with her spouse Dale. Betty was a very talented ice cream decorator of cakes and sweets. The Winston family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have extended their condolences, love, and support.
